September Fun
September has started to bring cooler weather, with high temparatures reaching only about 100 degrees now, so we've started to do more things outdoors. Over Labor Day weekend, we visisted Andrea's brother, Paul, and his family up in Flagstaff. While there, we went to the County Fair. After seeing the model railroads, we played on the inflatable playground and I was even allowed to go down the slide to "help" Michael! Michael was done after going down one time, though, and wanted to go with his Mommy and aunt Mari to see the animals while Christopher and his cousins finished playing. Michael liked most of the animals, but didn't seem too fond of the pigs (see picture below). The rest of us soon joined Michael and the others at the animals and had real Navajo tacos and roasted corn before we returned to Paul and Mari's home for a BBQ.

The next two weekends, Mark went canoeing down the Salt River with the youth (Priests, Teachers, Mia Maids, and Laurels) in our ward, and we went to a water park. This past week, Andrea taught Christopher's preschool class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and took Tuesday and Thursday to recover. For preschool, she taught the letter "D" and all things related (dimes, dinosaurs, drums, etc...). The kids each recieved some dimes throughout the week and were able to "buy" small books, toys, and candy at the "store". Surprise, surprise, the hot item of the week was the candy, which meant that all that was left over for dad were some puppets. Other than school, Andrea and the kids have been played at the park and in our backyard.
